Standard, micro
and nano bonds

Three bond sizes solve the same problem in different ways. The smaller the bond, the less visible the attachment and the lighter the load on each hair — but the more bonds you need and the more the work costs. The choice is driven by your density and hair condition, not by fashion.

The standard bond
Standard

The standard bond

About 4–5 mm long and the most common option. A full head takes 120–150 bonds with strands of 0.8–1 g. It suits normal to thick hair where the goal is length and volume rather than covering sparse areas. It is the fastest to apply and therefore the cheapest.

The micro bond
Micro

The micro bond

Roughly half the standard size, 2–3 mm. Each strand weighs 0.4–0.5 g and you need 250–400 bonds. This is the working compromise: the attachment can no longer be felt during ordinary brushing, yet the appointment does not stretch to ten hours. This is how most of our work is done.

The nano bond
Nano

The nano bond

The smallest at about 1.5 mm, with strands of 0.2–0.3 g. It takes 500–800 bonds and a full day of work. It is chosen for fine, weakened hair and for the face-framing and parting zones where any attachment shows. The load on each individual hair is minimal, so nano works where a standard bond simply would not hold.

Common questions

What is the difference between micro and nano bonds?

Size, and therefore quantity. A micro bond is 2–3 mm and you need 250–400 of them. A nano bond is about 1.5 mm and you need 500–800. Nano is less visible and gentler on the hair, but takes twice as long and costs more.

Which bonds suit fine hair?

Nano or micro. On fine hair a standard bond creates a noticeable load point and can snap the hair at its base. The finer your hair, the smaller the bond should be and the fewer total grams you can safely add.

Do nano bonds hold worse than standard ones?

No. The wear period is the same two to four months and depends on hair growth, not bond size. Nano weighs less and loads the root more gently, so on suitable hair it holds just as well.
